Our next Queer Book Club gathering brings the perfect seasonal read: Christmas Days: 12 Stories and 12 Feasts for 12 Days by Jeanette Winterson. Join us on Sunday, December 14, from 2–5 PM at Villa Vida Café for a warm, communal, winter-themed afternoon of stories, discussion, and connection. Jeanette Winterson’s Christmas Days is a festive blend of twelve original short stories paired with twelve recipes, each linked to a particular tale. The stories move through genres—ghostly, nostalgic, humorous, and heartfelt—bringing Winterson’s signature mix of myth, magic, and emotional clarity. Between them, she includes recipes ranging from roast dinners to seasonal sweets, each accompanied by personal anecdotes about her own traditions and chosen family.It’s a book rooted in atmosphere and storytelling, perfect for December and perfect for reading with community. Our Queer Book Club is open to all queer folks and allies who love reading, reflection, and shared conversation. Whether you’re a regular or attending for the first time, you’ll find a welcoming, community-driven space. Bring drinks and snacks to share or you can get some from the cafe if you’d like! This book club is proudly co-organized with Hint Wien and o*books. Books can be purchased and ordered at a discount from o*books, but you don’t have to have read the book to join.
